An original reality show format, “What Women Want” aimed to answer the long-standing question. Thousands of surveys were sent out to Malaysian women, their responses collated and the top 20 answers found their way into the programme as tasks. 13 brave young men competed to learn and prove that they have what it takes to become the titleholder. Judged by ordinary Malaysian women alongside female celebrity guests, the programme aired to rave reviews from both critics and viewers. Forums and blogs exploded with speculations on who will be eliminated, after-episode discussions, fan dedications to their favourite contestants and more opinions on what women want.
